Meal Colors

Visualize every guest's meal selection directly on the seating chart canvas.

Once your guests have meal choices recorded, Meal Colors mode lets you see the full picture at a glance — every occupied seat on the canvas fills with the color that represents that guest's selection. It's one of the fastest ways to catch a missed meal choice, verify per-table meal distribution, and prepare the handoff to your caterer.

Enabling Meal Colors

Click the Meal Colors toggle in the toolbar. When it's on, every seat circle on the canvas that has an assigned guest fills with that guest's meal color. Seats that are empty, or seats assigned to a guest with no meal selection recorded, appear in gray.

Toggle it off at any time to return to the standard seat view with guest initials.

The Meal Legend

When Meal Colors is active, a floating legend appears in the bottom-right corner of the canvas. The legend lists each meal option by name alongside its color swatch and the total count of seated guests who have chosen it. This tally is live — it updates immediately as you assign or reassign guests and as meal choices are updated in the Guest List.

Using Meal Colors in the Table Panel

Inside a table's guest panel, switching to Meals view colors each seat chip by meal choice rather than showing guest initials. This per-table breakdown is useful when coordinating with the caterer on table-by-table delivery — you can open each table and immediately see how many of each meal to bring to that table.

Setting Up Meal Options

Meal options and their colors are configured in the Guest List settings, not in the seating chart. To add or change meal options, go to Guest List, click the gear icon, and manage your meal options there. Each option gets a name and a color you assign. Those colors are what Folia uses to fill seat circles in Meal Colors mode.

Handing Off Meal Counts to Your Caterer

The per-meal totals shown in the legend — and broken down per table in the table panel — are exactly what your caterer needs for meal counts. For the full summary including dietary notes and a table-by-table breakdown, export the seating chart as a PDF. The Summary page of the export includes total meal counts, and each Table Detail page shows the meal choices for every guest at that table.
